Lentil Porridge

Hi there,
I have learnt how to cook  type of porridge which I did not know. Actually, it is very delicious and so far I can confidently offer to my friends to taste. Moreover, it does not cost much and recommendable for students :-)

Ingredients (approximately for 6 servings):
Lentil....................................500gr
Potato...................................5 pieces
Carrot...................................1 piece
Sweet pepper........................half piece
Beef, Mutton or Chicken......500gr
Tomato puree........................2 tablespoons or 2 tomatoes
Salt........................................1 tablespoon

Pour 5 litres of water into pot and add meat or chicken (preferably small cut), lentil and all the vegetables (cut in small cubes) and bring it to boil. When it will boil lower the heat and take out scum. Keep boiling in a lower heat. It should boil at least one hour till lentil is "melted", add salt to taste. Just make sure it will not become very liquid and lightly sapless. You can serve with greens such as basil, dill or coriander.
P.S.: there is an option to add eggs instead of meat/chicken. Just mix well 4 eggs separately pour into porridge later while lentil/veggies are boling.

Yoqimli ishtaha!

Voluntary work

Hi there!
I am back after for more than one year. Now I am doing voluntary work at BAKTI-MIND (www.mind.org.my). I would like to share some of my research and reflections as a volunteer.
We provide people with information related to disabilities, either through the website or face to face. Time to time we go down rural areas in Malaysia like Kuala Gula in Perak. We did Economic Empowerment Program Assessment (EEPA) in different regions in Malaysia.
Mr Lee Chee Keong who is the web-master of www.mind.org.my having meeting with volunteers.

Our aim is to empower people and help them to carry on with their lives INDEPENDENTLY.
Harriett Naylor is largely recognized as one of the (if not, the) founders of the volunteer resource management profession. And as early as 1967, in the introduction to her pioneer work Volunteers Today: Finding, Training and Working With Them, she stated:
This book expresses the need of each volunteer to be treated as unique and valuable, to become involved in the lives of others, to be awed by the difference and enjoy building unity out of diversity.
As a foundation tenet of my personal philosophy of volunteerism, I believe that each individual, regardless of race or age or creed or gender or ability, has something, some gift or talent, to share with his/her community through volunteerism. I further believe that one of our most critical professional responsibilities as volunteer resource managers is to develop opportunities that allow each willing individual who so chooses to exercise his/her right to share that talent or gift with others as a volunteer.
Here is the video about: Immersion Program at BAKTI-MIND

Volunteers from differentparts of the world at BAKTI-MIND office
Article by Kimberly Miller, Pam Scoglio, and Stuart J. Schleien who emphasize that “when individuals of diverse abilities are supported appropriately . . . barriers [to engagement] can be successfully overcome and a win-win scenario realized”
Voluntary work gives me satisfaction that I have done something good. It is the best feeling ever!

Crumpled paper

Hi there,
The day before final exam in university. Usually, students come to class and make some revision, brainstorming and something like this. Once, students asked too much questions from teacher, in order to know what topics might come out in final exam, despite teacher had given enough tips.  However, teacher made one thing that students could take very good tip not only for once, but it's useful tip for whole life!

Teacher asked from students to take piece of paper and follow him. He folded paper, then draw heart which the line from folding was in the middle of the heart. Students are following... After that teacher mentioned that to the left side of the heart he was writing names of people who are very close to him and to the right side things that we want to get in our life, like comfortable car, big house or new model telephone. Till here he asked to follow him, but this time began saying: "IF YOU WANT follow me". He tore the paper to few pieces then crumpled. Almost all students followed him untill here.
Then he said: "If you follow others you can easily loose your close people or things in your wish. Be independent and work hard all the time, trust yourself..."

P.S.: He was my lecturer Mr. Hazrul Azman Zakaria. Respect!

Laughter is the best medicine

Hi guys,
I’ve made presentation on topic  “ Laughter is the medicine”. I would like to share with you, as well. You should know that one of the best things you can do for your health is laughter. If you look up for tips of healthy lifestyle, you will see eating well, daily exercise, positive mental outlook and of course, laughter. Sometimes we take life seriously. Our days are running so fast and it seems like we don’t have time to laugh. Scientists identified that children laugh 300 times a day, but what about adults? 15 times. 15! What happens to us when we grow up?
Laughter improves job performance. Especially, if your job depends on creativity or solving complex problems.
Laughter also synchronizes the brains of speaker and listener, so they emotionally “tied”. Humor establishes or restores positive emotional climate and sense of connection between people. In fact, some researches believe that main function of laughter is to bring people together.
As we know, all our body work according to our brain and our heart is one of the important thing in our body, too. What I want to say is, when we laugh our body releases hormone called endorphin and it causes vessels to relax and increases blood flowing, blood supplied with oxygen. Moreover, endorphin’s known as natural painkiller which our body releases when we laugh. That is interesting to say that it happens even we make fake laugh, because according to scientists our brain cannot separate fake and true laugh. So just keep smiling.
As a prove to my words you can see clown doctors. Clown doctors work in hospitals and use their skills such as magic, balloon sculpting, storytelling, singing and other clowning skills to treat children with doses of fun. Perhaps children are being giving nasty medicine or injection. So clown doctors can distract them and nurses can do their job.
Finally, I say LIVE, LOVE and LAUGH, because LIFE is too short!

Hugging with Lion

Hey, here you can see that kindness between human and animal. Not simple animal but lion!

According to Russian journalists' words, In Columbia one woman saved kid of lion's life and gave him to the zoo. When the lion become older, the woman came to see the lion and happened this event.

Seems that the lion didn't forget her. This is very impressive, huh?))

Wonders

               Hi guys,
I saw some pictures on the internet and I wondered, really.
Before it I had known that there are planets bigger than ours such as Jupiter, Saturn, Sun...
however here you can see that even Sun, in front of other planets only one pixel

Let's start with planets that smaller than Earth

As you know these are nine planets in the Solar system

                                  In front of the Sun

Earth is invisible in this picture

I guess that there are planets that bigger than Antares itself which are not discovered yet, who knows...
